WHAT IS A GHOST WALK?
A ghost walk is basically a guided walking tour, where you follow a guide, visiting sites with historical hauntings, spooky stories and magnificent views.
HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?
Click the BOOK NOW button to book directly. You can also avoid a booking fee by calling us or visiting the booking office.
You can book elsewhere, but it will always be cheaper here.
WHEN ARE your TOURS?
The Deathly Dark Tour of York runs every night, at 8pm with additional times during busy periods.
HOW LONG DOES a ghost walk LAST?
Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
WHERE DOES THE ghost walk START/end?
All tours start from our booking office / spooky gift shop at 4 Grape Lane, York YO1 7HU
Tours usually end at Clifford's Tower, but on some occasions we may use an alternate route and end at Shambles. Please contact us if you need to know for transport links etc.
IS this ghost walk Family Friendly?
Absolutely. Imagine Horrible Histories, but with a little more innuendo for the grown ups.
Are ghost walks dog friendly?
This one certainly is! Well behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR for a ghost walk?
This is an outdoor event. We recommend dressing to suit the weather on the day of your tour, whether that is blazing sunshine or a howling gale. Sensible shoes are always recommended.
Do you use paranormal science elements on the tour?
Some of our guides will mention the use of EMF detectors, Mel meters and spirit boxes on the tour in passing and Dorian or Dalton may sometimes use an EMF detector. However, if you want to hear more about these tools we can arrange a private tour for you!

WHERE CAN I PARK?
Both Castle Car Park or St George's Field are close to the end location.
Park and Ride is a great option depending on what time tour you join.
HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THE TOUR?
York is an historic city, cobbled and uneven in some places, but we try to keep our route as safe as possible for those travelling with us. If you are concerned whether the tour is suitable for you, or you would like to view our accessibility report, please get in touch with dede@deathlydarktours.

We have no control or dominion over the spirits that may or may not exist in this ancient city.
We are storytellers and history enthusiasts and have a passion for sharing this wonderful old
place with the people that visit. Will you see a ghost? We make no promises, but we will tell you
the best places to look!
WHEN DO THE PUBS CLOSE?
An excellent question, with various answers. We suggest The Last Drop Inn for post tour drinks and
you will also get 10% off drinks when you show your same day tour ticket!
The tour ends within easy walking distance of numerous pubs, bars and restaurants.
Ask your guide, they can send you off in the right direction.
